Patrick Fahn, Principal

Patrick received his Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree and his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Waterloo.  He is a member of the Ontario Association of Architects and a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.  His professional interests include urban design, landscape design, public art, interior architecture, and barrier-free accessibility.

In addition to working in his practice, Patrick has been a guest speaker at the University of Toronto Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design, as well as the University of Waterloo School of Architecture.  He has also served as a mentor for several intern architects.

Patrick won his first open design competition back in 1991.  His public art design, the AIDS Memorial in Cawthra Square Park in Toronto, was selected from over 60 submissions.  The memorial was officially opened in June of 1993 and the story of his design has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers.  In 2006, the project was featured on Vision TV in a documentary series entitled "Spiritual Gardens".

In the summer of 2011, Patrick began to prepare design concepts for the third phase of the Cawthra Square Park re-design and completion of the work is scheduled for the summer of 2013.

Community involvement is also a significant aspect of Patrick's life.  He has volunteered his time and expertise for Habitat for Humanity, the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto/the Toronto District School Board in the renovations for the Oasis Alternative Secondary School, and LOFT Community Services, to name a few.  He was also the assistant conductor for the University Settlement Community Choir.
